Beginning as a national Baby Loss Awareness Day in 2002 – Baby Loss Awareness Week has taken place every October in the UK since then. It’s a week that bereavement charities aim to offer support and comfort to those whose lives have been touched by the impact of pregnancy and baby loss.
This year marks the 21st anniversary of baby loss awareness week in the UK. The annual campaign encourages anyone who has experienced baby loss in the community and beyond to come together in remembrance of all those precious babies who died too soon, and the week ends with a global WAVE OF LIGHT on 15th October, candles ate lit across the globe at 7pm as part of International Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Day.
At The Sanctuary a whopping 90% of all our fertility clients have experience of baby loss. It touches our hearts every time we do the initial consultation.
At The Sanctuary we have a Trust so if you know of anyone who is struggling, please reach out and we will see what we can do to help.
Our founder Jane has created a safe space for everyone to share and we are lighting our candle for the #Waveoflight 15th October, 7pm and closing our clinic early as a mark of respect. If you would like to share your journey with us – have your babies remembered with all the other Little Hummingbirds please get in touch with Jane and she will add good thoughts as she lights our candle in The Sanctuary at 7pm, if you would like to join us in a sister’s circle at that time please contact Jane.
