In the winter months we can crave sugary sweets and chocolate particularly if you are feeling tired. Sugar can give a quick energy rush. But how to find balance particularly if you are wanting to do a sugar detox.
A diet of whole grains, healthy fats that can be found in nuts, seeds and lean meat has long been publicised. Add in oily fish, avocado and plenty of protein in fish, beans, chickpeas, lentils and your onto a winning formula as it encourages our body to make feel good neurotransmitters such as serotonin.
So next time you reach for a chocolate bar think how else can I get the feel good feelings flowing around your body.
